Canon for Christmas

Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D has long been one of the most popular classical pieces. In this arrangement, the Canon is combined with popular Christmas carols, such as Hark, the Herald Angels Sing and The First Noel, whose melodies fit nicely over the harmonic progression of Pachelbel's famous canon. This arrangement will work nicely with strings alone or with the optional choir (CM9401).

Carol of the Bells/Greensleeves

The composer calls this type of piece a "Tune Sandwich". Larry has literally combined two of the most popular holiday carols into a full symphonic treatment where both tunes are presented together in a unique way. This is a perfect composition for young bands to dig into for their next holiday concert or for a more advanced group to work up in a few rehearsals.

Christmas a la Big Band

Anyone at all familiar with the great swing classics will get an incredible kick out of this amazing showstopper!  Larry Clark mixes familiar holiday tunes with bits of real big band charts, and manages to keep the style 100% swing and 100% fun.  The segues are really slick and each new tune gets a "how did he think of that" reaction.  Our favorite moment is when the band yells "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town" just like the famous dance bands used to.  This chart is just a gas, and will be a highlight of any concert!

Christmas \"a la\" Big Band

Christmas Classique

Christmas Gloria

Christmas Gloria begins with a snare drum solo snares off which sets the tone for a bolero style arrangement reminiscent of the Little Drummer Boy but based on the all time favorite Pat-a-Pan. The arrangement builds to a climax that brings in the melody of the Gloria section of Angles We Have Heard On High.

Coventry Carol

A symphonic fantasia on this popular Christmas carol. It is dramatic and musically sophisticated, but within the technical limitations of the young band. If you want something with depth for your next holiday concert, shock this out.

Coventry Carol

Eine Kleine Christmas

The lights dim, the audience is hushed, the baton is aloft, and 'away we go!' 'Tis a musical romp with tongue in cheek, and we hope that Mr. Mozart's attorney is not in the house. Smiles will turn to giggles, and even an embouchure or two may fall prey to the humor. Relax... it's the season to be jolly!

Eine Kleine Christmas

Lassus Trombone

Henry Fillmore is best known for his outpouring of successful marches. This becomes even more impressive when one realizes that he also wrote under eight names. He is also known as the 'father of the Trombone smear' because of the wide acceptance of LASSUS TROMBONE and fourteen other compositions of this nature. Larry Clark greatly reduces any technical difficulties, leaving intact the great glissando effects that your audiences (and your trombone players) will love!

Military Escort

The most popular of Harold Bennett's (a.k.a Henry Fillmore) marches, Military Escort is one that even Sousa wished he had written. From the opening trumpet fanfare to the tuneful trio, this classic is one of the best! Larry Clark has arranged this, as he has many other Harold Bennett marches, to be better suited for today's bands. This is a proven winner in an arrangement that you know will work.

Military Escort

Normal March

This march is one of Harold Bennett's (pseudonym of Henry Fillmore) finest. It is in Henry Fillmore's typical fast and fun vein and in standard march form. What is unique about this classic from the original Bennett Band Book is that it is one of the few Bennett marches that includes a "break strain," which will make it a great introduction to younger students to prepare them to play the more challenging marches of Fillmore, Sousa and others.

Power March

This is one of Harold Bennett's (pseudonym of Henry Fillmore) lesser-known marches, but that is no indication of its quality. It is a 6/8 march in standard march form but what is unique about this classic from the original Bennett Band Book is that it is one of the few Bennett marches that includes a "break strain." This makes it a great introduction for younger students to prepare them to play the more challenging marches of Fillmore, Sousa, and others.
